The 3rd International Conference on Aerogels for Biomedical and Environmental Applications will take place in Maribor, Slovenia, in July 2023. The conference is organized under the AERoGELS COST Action and aims to bring together international experts from academia, industry, and regulatory bodies to share knowledge and progress in the field of aerogels.
Aerogels are advanced, highly porous materials with a wide range of applications in the biomedical and environmental fields. They can be used as drug carriers, bone grafts, or wound dressings in biomedical applications, while they also serve as insulators, absorbents, sensors, and catalysts in environmental applications.
The conference aims to integrate the most recent scientific and technological advancements in aerogels. It will also focus on networking and strengthening collaborations within the aerogel community through poster sessions, social events, coffee breaks, and meals.
The AERoGELS COST Action is comprised of over 500 participants from 47 countries and more than 250 institutions from academia, industry, and regulatory experts. The Action mainly focuses on environmental applications, such as treatment and removal of pollutants, energy management, and life cycle analysis, as well as life sciences, including pharma, biomedical, and food applications of aerogels.
