ISGS Summer School 2016

Berlin calling

The 19th International Sol-Gel Conference will be held on September 3-8, 2017 in Liège, Belgium. Previous editions gathered around 500 participants from all over the world. For the 19th edition, the conference will be organised in three parallell sessions. The great success of the Sol-Gel Conference series over the past 35 years attests that sol-gel science and technology is an extraordinarily multidisciplinary research area. The biennial conference gathers the most relevant and innovative advances in the field from the point of view of scientific research and industrial developments. Intensive promotions to interdisciplinary and academia-industry collaborations will be emphasized.

The International Sol-Gel Society presents its 5th Summer School to be held in Berlin, Germany from 24th to 27th July 2016. This time the theme of the summer school will be

SOL-GEL CHARACTERIZATION TECHNIQUES AND ENERGY-RELATED SOL-GEL MATERIALS

Young researchers and experienced scientists are invited to gather at the Bildungszentrum Erkner for 4 days to attend courses on sol-gel chemistry and advanced characterization techniques. International experts from both Academia and Industry will cover topics ranging from sol-gel chemistry to advanced characterization techniques and energy-related sol-gel materials during an intensive 3-day program. In addition, the activities scheduled in the evenings will give the attendees the opportunity to network in a friendly environment.

Journal of Sol-Gel Science and Technology: facts and numbers

The journal remains a major forum for reporting results of the studies in the domain of sol-gel science and its applications. The number of submissions is gradually increasing – 719 (2012), 817 (2013) and 891 (2014). This year over 900 submissions are expected. The acceptance rate remains moderate, staying at 42 % in average through the last 4 years. The proposals made at the last Advisory Board meeting involved in particular publication of the thematic cover devoted to one of the articles in the issue, invited papers and invited issues to be written/edited by younger researchers and also introduction of thematic classifications in the table of contents. Graphical abstracts in color are already introduced. MORE>>
