The ISGS is delighted to call for nominations for the 2021 ISGS Renata Reisfeld PhD Student Fellowship for Women in Sol-Gel Science and Technology. The Fellowship celebrates the extraordinary life and career of a solgel pioneer, Professor Renata Reisfeld, and is dedicated to women who are currently undertaking their PhD in sol-gel science and technology. The Fellowship is open to women who have completed the first year of their PhD studies at the time of nomination, with at least one year remaining until the Defence of their thesis. Candidates must be nominated by their PhD supervisors, with all nominations to include:
- A three-page synopsis describing the candidate’s research program, including objectives, preliminary results and expected outcomes (including details of any peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations). The synopsis should address the novelty, intellectual merit and broader impact of the research.
- A letter-of-recommendation from the candidate’s PhD adviser.
- An additional letter-of-recommendation by a Professor or researcher (who holds a PhD) who is familiar with the candidate’s work.
The Fellowship recipient will receive a diploma signed by the President of the ISGS, an award of $US 2,000 and complimentary membership of the ISGS until the defense of her thesis.
