2017 ISGS Lifetime Achievement Awards
|
Donald R. Ulrich Award recognizes outstanding contributions in sol-gel science made by young researchers. The 2017 awardees will be the brothers Vladimir and Alexandr Vinogradov, from ITMO University in Saint Petersburg who will share an award, and Tim Fellinger from Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam. The Award granted in remembrance of Prof. Dr. Donald R. Ulrich is given since 1991 during the International Sol-Gel Conference. The awardees will receive a Diploma, and will present their work when receiving the Award at the ISGS Conference. |
Dr. Jeffrey Brinker, of Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, N.M., and Prof. Lisa Klein of Rutgers University, N.J., will receive in Liège the 2017 ISGS lifetime achievement awards for their extraordinary contribution to the advancement of sol-gel science and technology.

Handbook of Sol-Gel Science and Technology Processing, Characterization and Applications Second Edition Editors: Lisa Klein, Mario Aparicio, and Andrei Jitianu The first edition was edited by Professor Sumio Sakka in 2005. A decade after, Professor Klein, Doctor Aparicio, and Professor Jitianu started to work on the second edition having Professor Sakka as one of the main advisors. The second edition has been significantly updated and enriched and offers a comprehensive view of sol-gel processing, new characterization techniques, and novel applications.
