The 6th International Conference of CIS Countries – “Sol-Gel Synthesis and Research of Inorganic Compounds, Hybrid Functional Materials and Disperse Systems” (Sol-Gel 2020) will be held on 11-15 October 2021 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The conference, which will be held at the Samarkand State University, is being organised by Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent in partnership with the Institute of Materials Science of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Samarkand State University. More information can be found at website.
The main aim of the conference is to explore the applications of sol-gel technology in modern materials science. Sol-gel technology contributes to the creation of materials with a given set of properties, primarily nanomaterials. It also contributes to the control of the composition of the properties and architecture of nanomaterials, and to the search for fundamental principles for controlling the properties of inorganic and hybrid compounds, nanoparticles, films, colloidal systems to obtain new types of materials. All of the above qualities provide great opportunities for the implementation of scientific and technical work in the field of modern materials science.
The conference will address the following themes:
- Theoretical aspects of sol-gel processing;
- Sol-gel synthesis and research involving nanoparticles;
- Sol-gel films and membranes;
- Hybrid inorganic and organic-inorganic materials;
- Xerogels, glass and bulk ceramic materials;
- Advanced sol-gel materials for environmental protection, agriculture and biomedicine applications;
- Technically valuable and innovative sol-gel materials and technologies.
An important feature of the conference will be the organisation of an International Young Scientists School entitled “New frontiers in Sol-Gel Materials”, which is expected to involve young scientists from different countries. The aim of the Scientific School is to familiarize undergraduate and graduate students and young scientists with modern works in the field of sol-gel technology. Nowadays, sol-gel science and technology has become an extraordinarily multidisciplinary area of research, spanning chemistry, physics, biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, electronics, and related engineering branches, materials science and nanotechnology. Based on this, the range of application of these technologies is very wide. Lectures will be delivered by leading world scientists in sol-gel science and technology from Russia, Japan, China, Belarus, near and far abroad . Oral reports of young scientists and a special poster session with the active participation of young scientists are also planned. The best oral and poster presentation will be awarded with certificates and memorable prizes, and Abstracts will be published.
We believe this conference will be a highly rewarding educational and networking experience for all and will promote cooperation and collaboration between delegates. The organisers look forward to welcoming delegates to a great Sol-Gel meeting in Uzbekistan.
Professor Olim Ruzimuradov (on behalf of the Local Organizing Committee).
