Following the success of the first two ISGS PhD Student eMarathons in March 2024 and March 2025, the ISGS will host the third PhD Student eMarathon on Wednesday 25 March 2026 via ZOOM. The eMarathon will involve a series of conference-style lectures by our PhD Students, with each lecture being of 30 minutes duration and an additional 10 minutes for questions.
We invite any PhD student working in the broad area of sol-gel science and technology who is interested in presenting their work as a participant in the eMarathon to submit an abstract to the ISGS eSeminar convenor via email, together with a short statement outlining their motivation for participating in the event. The closing date for applications is Monday 16 February 2026. Applicants will be advised of the outcome of their applications by Monday 23 February 2026.
Our aspiration with the eMarathon initiative is to showcase the depth and diversity of the sol-gel research being undertaken by our PhD Students and to provide them with an opportunity to present their work to an international audience in a relaxed, online environment. As with all ISGS eSeminars, the presentations will be recorded and made available to ISGS members via the ISGS website.
