> Relevant information and statistics 2008-2011

The 2011 JCR data ratings for JSST have been recently published. Below is a comparison for the year 2008 and 2011.

Comparison for JSST, 2008 to 2011

year rank total cites impact factor 5-year impact factor immediacy index cited half-life
2008 5 3051 1.433 1.442 0.179 6.9
2009 5 3209 1.393 1.473 0.278 6.8
2010 3 3611 1.525 1.619 0.197 7.2
2011 4 4024 1.632 1.808 0.156 7.1

Calculations (examples for 2011):
Impact factor: cites in 2011 to items published in the 2 previous years (2009 and 2010) divided by the number of items published in the same period
5-year impact factor: cites in 2011 to articles published in the 5 previous years (2006 to 2010)
Immediacy index: cites to articles published in 2011 divided by the number of articles published in the same year
Cited Half-life: number of publication years from the current JCR year that account for 50% of citations received by the journal JSST

The analysis of these data in comparison to those of the previous years are

- JSST unfortunately dropped to the 4th rank.

- the total cites are steadily increasing (11% compared to 2010)

- the impact factor is steadily increasing since 2009 (7% compared to 2010)

- the 5-year impact factor is also steadily increasing since 2008 (almost 12 % compared to last year)

- the immediacy index is continuing to greatly improve

- the number of articles published is higher

- the cited half-life remained almost the same.

If one excludes the loss of the 3rd rank gained in 2010, all other values have steadily improved since several years. The publisher and the editors of JSST take this opportunity to thank all the authors who have chosen JSST to publish their research. You have greatly contributed to the improvement of the JSST ratings. We hope that all the values will still continue to improve in 2012 and we shall try to get again the 3rd rank!
