Prof. David Avnir, awarded by the Israel Chemical Society Prize

The community

Prof. David Avnir has received in January 2011 the Israel Chemical Society Prize of Excellence for his discoveries and pioneering studies on entrapment of organic compounds in sol-gel materials.

"I am happy about it mainly because I think it is the first time that a national chemical society gives its highest award to the sol-gel field."

Enrico Della Gaspera is a PhD candidate in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Padova (Italy) under the supervision of Prof. Alessandro Martucci. He received his Bachelor Degree in Materials Engineering in 2005 and his Master’s Degree in Material Science and Engineering in 2007.

Two young researchers in the spotlight: M. Chee Kimling, M. Faustini

The community

Maryline Chee Kimling and Marco Faustini were the recipients of 2010 ISGS poster prizes awarded during the 2010 ISGS SummerSchool.

Each edition of the ISGS SummerSchool gives the opportunity to highlight the work of young researchers. Among the numerous interesting posters displayed during the permanent poster session, one or two posters are selected for both the scientific quality of the work and  the presentation of the scientific information on the poster.
